[DNA] Current Schemes for Movement Detection

Dear all,

Our team did work on performance evaluation of current MIPv6
movement detection (MD) schemes.

We implemented 4 MD schemes as follows;
1) ECS (Eager Cell Switching),
2) NUD like,
3) 1 NS and timeout,
4) RA beaconing.

We also measured 1) MD delay and 2) Error rate of
each scheme on a testbed.

Actually, we joined the ETSI IPv6 IOP test at last year
and asked each MIPv6-implementation team how to implement
MD scheme. Surprisingly, each team realized it totally differently
as follows;
1) ECS (Eager Cell Switching) - 4 teams
2) NUD like, - 1 team
3) 1 NS and timeout - 1 team
4) RA beaconing - 1 team.

We think DNA may be the natural place for this work
and many MIPv6 engineers/researchers will be interested in this work.

We think this work will help folks to understand MD better
and can serve as a valuable input for L2 triggers, for example
IEEE 802.21. We will show how MD performance, not only speed
but also precision, improved with L2 trigger.

We didn't submit a draft yet but you can find the document of
our work at:

Thanks.
