I think your expression doesn't look bad. We may change,  

"Link change may occur when a new link-layer connection is established."

into 

"Link change may occur when a host's attachement point changes. 

But we need to make it sure that the term 'Attachment Point or Point of 
Attachment' is clearly understood and widely used one. 

After looking through seamoby terminology draft, I am worried there may
be problem. 

Seamoby terminology defines Interface as  

     Interface

       A node's point of attachment to a link.

So when we use "a mobile node's point of attachment", it may mean either 
its Access Point or its WLAN interface. 

I am afraid this may cause confusion.
