[DNA] DNA Goals Issue List
Dear DNA WG
I summarize the issues of DNA Goals draft.
I looked over the mailing list since the draft announcement and found out
that most of the issues which require serious contemplation were raised
by Jim Bound. We'd like to express our gratitude for his valuable feedbacks,
even though (or because :-)) he proposes a radical change to the current
version.
I divide the main issues into three categories,
1. Removal
2. Additional Goals
3. Modification/ Clarification
1. Removal
Jim Bound propose that the parts of the draft
1) be removed and
2) be made a separate draft, if possible.
The parts to be removed are as follows
Issue 1.
Jim Bound propose to remove the second part of Abstract.
* This may necessitate the rewriting of Abstract.
Issue 2.
Jim Bound propose to remove
Section 2. Detecting Network Attachment in Existing IPv6 Systems
Issue 3.
Jim Bound propose to remove
Sub-sec 3.2. Inadequacies in RA information
2. Additional DNA goals
Jim Bound propose as DNA additional goals the following three items.
Issue 4.
Jim Bound propose as an additional DNA goal
To investigate a way for a host to attain and retain all prefixes with certainty.
Issue 5.
Jim Bound propose as an additional DNA goal
To analyze the case of the host hearing both links with respect to
seamless mobility
Issue 6.
Jim Bound propose as an additional DNA goal
To describe the L2 properties with respect to routing and link detection
- This may be the work under either link-layer hint or bcp work.
III. Modification/ Clarification
Jim Bound propose that several parts of the draft to be modified or clarified.
It seems that several parts of Sec 1 Introduction need to be rewritten. I will
enumerate them in a subsequent mail with updated versions.
I announce this list without Jim's final confirmation because only one more
day is left before my departure to SD. In case there is an incorrect issue
or a missing one, kindly let me know.
Also kindly comment on the above issues so that we can settle them clearly
at San Diego meeting. Your feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks for your kind considerations.
Best Regards
